Daily maintenance points for powder packing machine equipment

Time:2026-09-14

Powder packaging machines are commonly used packaging equipment in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, primarily for packaging powder and dust-like materials. To keep the equipment running smoothly and extend its service life, regular maintenance is essential. Today, we will introduce the key daily maintenance points for powder packaging machines as summarized by the manufacturer.

First, cleaning is the top priority. Powder materials are very fine and prone to dusting. During operation, some powder can scatter onto various parts of the machine. If not cleaned promptly, it can affect the normal operation of the equipment and may even cause cross-contamination. After each workday, the equipment should be thoroughly cleaned. In particular, components that come into direct contact with the material—such as the measuring auger, hopper, and discharge outlet—must be thoroughly cleaned. When cleaning, use a soft-bristled brush or a clean cloth; avoid using hard objects to scrape, so as not to scratch the equipment surface.

Second, regularly inspect fasteners. During operation, vibrations can cause screws, nuts, and other fasteners to loosen over time. If not checked promptly, loose fasteners may lead to equipment failure or even safety accidents. Inspect all fasteners on the equipment at least once a week, especially the screws on the motor, reducer, and measuring mechanism. If any loosening is found, tighten them promptly.

Third, lubrication maintenance must be done properly. Moving parts of the equipment need regular lubrication to reduce friction and extend service life. For example, bearings, gears, chains, and guide rails should be lubricated regularly with oil or grease according to the instruction manual. However, note that parts in contact with the material should not be lubricated, so as to avoid product contamination. When adding lubricating oil, be careful not to let oil drip onto the product or packaging materials.

Fourth, inspect the condition of seals. Seals on a powder packaging machine are critical—once a seal degrades, powder leakage will occur. Regularly inspect the sealing rings and gaskets at all sealing points. If any wear, aging, or deformation is found, replace them promptly. Pay special attention to inspecting the seals on the measuring auger and the discharge outlet.

Fifth, electrical system maintenance must not be overlooked. The electrical system is the brain of the equipment and must be kept dry and clean. Regularly check whether the wiring terminals inside the electrical cabinet are loose, whether wires are damaged, and whether the contacts of contactors and relays are burned or corroded. In particular, proximity switches, photoelectric switches, and other sensors are easily covered by powder, which affects their sensitivity—they should be cleaned frequently. Electrical system inspection and repair must always be performed with the power disconnected, and safety precautions must be observed.

The technical staff at Dongguan Changsheng Packaging Machinery Co., Ltd. reminds everyone that in addition to the above, worn parts should be replaced promptly and the equipment should not be operated beyond its rated capacity. As long as maintenance is carried out regularly according to the manufacturer's requirements, the equipment will remain in good condition, with fewer faults and a longer service life.
